Vietnam Jan-May coffee exports up 24.2% y/y at 889,000 tonnes - statistics office

Coffee exports from Vietnam are estimated to increase 24.2% in the first five months of this year from a year earlier to 889,000 tonnes, government data released on Sunday showed.

Coffee export revenue for Vietnam, the world's biggest producer of the robusta bean, is estimated to post a 54% rise from a year earlier to $2.0 billion in the five-month period, the General Statistics Office said in a report.

The country's coffee shipments in May are estimated at 150,000 tonnes, up 15.2% from a year earlier and valued at $343 million.
