Having just had a quick play.. it looks like it works well.. my only gripe is the having to manually change the colour scheme (providing it's different to green and red) which consists of over 200+ changes. Understandably this makes it 3D though due to the various different opacity.
Aesthetically looks great. If you simplified this by changing it to 2D then it would not do the amount of work you have put in to creating this any justice. So it's a small trade off IMO. :)
