FXN - Buy Sell Signals, EMA 5 / 13 Cross

Euro Fx/Canadian DollarFXCM

תיאור

This is a simple script to display buy and sell signals when the 5 and 13 Exponential moving averages cross. These signals are designed to only appear when they occur during the London and New York Trading Sessions, although this aspect of the indicator can be changed.

These signals should not be considered as trade signals in isolation and must only be used in confirmation with other confluences and factors outlined in their strategy.

הערות שחרור

Implemented new features:

1. Support of broker price feeds who are not using Eastern Standard Time

2. Allow users to change the signal shapes, colors, positions of generated signals

הערות שחרור

Restricted signals to only display when using a 15 minute chart

הערות שחרור

Changed default settings to show the signal as a small orange circle above or below the candle to signify whether the 5 and 13 EMA cross has happened.

Include the other EMAs into this one indicator that are used to help with direction and targets. These include 5, 13, 50, 200, 365 and the 800. These can be turned off from the settings input tab or customised on the style tab.

Could you show me the youtube link where you explain the EMAs and the associated trade "levels". Can't find it anymore due to the high amount of (great value) tutorial movies. Thanks.

Which input would you use for the alerts? (buy, sell )
RobMinty
@glenw1690, Hiya, to add alerts, the best way is to right click on say the emas ie. choose the 13, then from the menu choose the option to add an alert. Then you would choose the condition of FXN - Buy Sell Signals and the value of either the Fast or slow ema. Then you would choose in the next section crossing and then repeat in the next condition using the fast / slow (opposite to what was choosen in the first condition.

@RobMinty, Thank you I figured it out, I was only confused by the multiple “Shapes” options.
Thanks 🙏🏽

Awesome script, could you add potentially a base line for the EMA cross/shift? Like so only take into consideration shorts when candles are under the 50 and 200 ema. And longs when the cross happens above the 50 and 200 ema.

Hey Rob, I love the script. I'm curious - is there a way to add the Asian session into the 'allowed signals' window? (I've noticed the asian session being important during digital assets) - I took a stab and duplicating and adjusting the values but failed miserably. Any guidance would be appreciated!
RobMinty
@whalewannabe, hiya - there is a checkbox option on the setting input tab, that is checked by default that says "Only Show Signal During London and New York Sessions", if you unselect that option is will show the signal whenever it happens throughout the day with no restriction on which session it is in.

Serious piece of work and just fantastic.

Have a question regarding the range calcs and can not for the life of me work out the issue after looking deeply into the Pine script.

If I switch to continuous futures on the ES (ES1!), the range calcs (number underneath the box) do not work, however when i change to cash market index (SPX) or currencies, no issues at all.

Is there a toggle on the assumptions or something in the calcs that causes the futures to be miscalculated?

Have been watching your youtube posts as well, just great work!

@MichaelBogoevski, Hi Michael, thanks for the feedback. I am guessing you are referring to the Asian Session Range, when you talk about calc that appear underneath the box. I will do some tests with futures feeds and see if there is a potential solution
RobMinty
@MichaelBogoevski, So I think the issue you are seeing with ES1! as an example is that the script is converting the range value to pips. So for example on December 16th the Asian Range shows the value of 1.8. When I measure the range using Trading View's measurement tool it shows 18. So would you expect the Asian Range value to = 18 or 4.5
