The debate has, continues, and will always rage on...Does news affect prices? Its a valid debate. One certainly worth continuing. However, tonight I want to try to produce some sort of empirical data that News does/or does not affect prices. I've been clear, my perspective is that is does not. Maybe it's not your perspective but you've been curious. Let's try to put this to the test tonight.

Now, I cannot tell you how this thought experiment will conclude. What I can say is I will give you my perspective by taking the risk of being detailed. The rules require 2 things. (1) We can all agree I'm not a mind reader. I do not tell the future. I will freely admit that. That's point #1 as it pertains to the rules. (2) You must also participate by providing this thought experiment your perspective in the comments section below. If you do not agree to the rules....PLEASE STOP READING AND KINDLY MOVE ON.

If you're still here, here's my perspective.

It will not matter what the CPI report is tomorrow at 830am EST. Price will initially react positively to the report. (initially is defined by minutes to hours to NO MORE THAN 1 trading day). After which the SPX will decline precipitously.

Everyone reading this would agree I have no prior knowledge of the report. The only thing I have is a chart.

Would you be so kind as to give your personal perspective as to tomorrow's CPI report reaction?

Best to all,

Chris
