The gold market is having a hard time finding a solid foundation, even though the Federal Reserve is approaching the end of its tightening monetary policy cycle. The Fed's latest Senior Lending Officers (SLOOS) Opinion Survey shows a broad-based tightening signal market.
Survey data shows signal conditions continue to tighten, although fears from the Banking crisis in May have subsided. This makes economists and investors feel worried about my economy slowing down in the future.
However, strategists have different opinions on whether the Fed can end the cycle of tightening monetary policy. Some argue that the Fed has more room to end the tightening cycle, while others argue that the survey data does not provide enough insight into the Fed's next policy decision.
