Moving averages are very bullish
Long term resistance has been broken & is the new day's support
Love these Kagi views as I view it as an indicator of the short term trend
For those that also love statistics - we see here it is moving a full standard away from the mean
Weekly appears very bullish
The weekly STOCH & MACD have proved that they can camp at these elevated levels for a full week or two longer
As for the dollar - I have no idea at the moment. I started the year thinking it would drop 300-400 basis points by end of the first quarter. All the talking heads on Bloomberg are now calling for a stronger dollar, and I see the logic. However, I feel it would make sense for the Trump administration to seek to willfully devalue the dollar as this would make our exports cheaper for other countries & our imports more expensive. This would also lead most people to believe there is excessive wage growth in terms of dollars which would aid in the upcoming election.
If the FOMC meeting this week results in the market continuing to rally - I will remain long, however if the market immediately moves sideways or down I will keep my puts and remain tight.
The market did not retrace - amazing. Patterns are not right 100% of the time. We learn and we smile.
For now I have reopened a straddle heavier on calls with the puts along as a hedge - how are they a hedge? -Just got extra leverage in them.
