This is a bullish trend continuation pattern that usually works when the upper border of the cup breaks through to the depth of the formation — in our case, this is 67% of the increase from the bottom of the cup to the breakdown level.
Volume: an important confirmation is the increase in volume during the breakdown, which indicates the presence of strong demand.
Entry: after a breakdown of the resistance level (the top line of the cup).
Stop: can be placed:
conservatively — below the handle level (below local support),
aggressively — immediately below the breakdown level, if you want to reduce risk.
Take Profit (TP):
The target is calculated as:
Breakdown level + depth of the cup
In our case: +67% of the breakdown point.
Fake Breakout Filtering:
It is not recommended to enter on breakouts without confirmation by volume or a candle close above the breakout level.
Time Symmetry:
Ideally, if the handle lasts 1/3 or less of the duration of the cup formation.
