The FTSE 100 Index Closes 0.70% Higher

In London, the FTSE 100 Index rose 65 points or 0.70 percent on Friday.

Leading the gains are Intercontinental Hotels (3.85%), Weir (3.11%) and Hikma Pharmaceutical (3.08%).

Top losers were Rio Tinto (-1.86%), Spirax-Sarco Engineering (-1.67%) and Diageo (-0.99%).
