Time Markers (HuntsPip)

Time Markers (HuntsPip) combines day-of-week separators, major trading session range boxes, true week open, and true day open levels into a single overlay for intraday chart organization. It provides traders with a comprehensive time-based framework by consolidating multiple temporal reference points into one clean indicator, reducing chart clutter while ensuring key session boundaries and weekly or daily opening levels are always visible for planning entries around time-sensitive market events.

█ CONCEPTS

Intraday traders often rely on several time-based reference points to structure their analysis. Day separators help visually distinguish one trading day from the next. Session ranges - Asian, London, New York, and Sydney - highlight the high and low of each major market session, providing context about where price action occurred during specific periods of participation.

The True Week Open and True Day Open are concepts used in ICT-style analysis. Rather than using the standard midnight open, some traders define the "true" open as the price at a specific time - often 18:00 New York time - which aligns with the start of the new trading day or week in certain market conventions. These opening prices are then tracked as horizontal reference levels, as some traders interpret them as anchors around which the day's or week's price action may revolve.

█ WHAT IT DOES

This tool combines four time-based features into a single indicator. First, it applies alternating background shading and day-of-week labels to distinguish each trading day. Second, it draws colored session range boxes for up to four major sessions, each showing the session's high and low in real time. Third, it plots the True Week Open as a horizontal line at the opening price of a configurable day and time. Fourth, it plots the True Day Open as a horizontal line at the opening price of a configurable daily time.

Both the week and day open lines extend forward on the chart and include optional vertical lines at the point of the open. All features automatically hide on timeframes of 4 hours and above. Each component is independently configurable with its own colors, styles, and display limits.

█ FEATURES AND USAGE

DAY SEPARATOR

• Display Time - Sets the time of day where the day label is placed, using 24-hour format.
  
  
• Display Maximum Weeks - Controls how many weeks of day separators are shown. Range: 1-4.
  
  
• Display Day Length - Sets the label text format.
    - Short - Abbreviated names (MON, TUE, WED, etc.).
    - Full - Full names (MONDAY, TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, etc.).
  
  
• Position - Controls whether day labels appear at the top or bottom of the chart.
  
  
• Highlight Weekdays - Toggles alternating background shading for Monday through Friday. A color picker controls the shading color.
  
  
• Highlight Weekends - Toggles background shading for Saturday and Sunday with a separate color picker.
  
  
• Show Labels - Toggles the day-of-week text labels with a color picker for the text.
  

MARKET SESSIONS

Four sessions are available: Asian, London, New York, and Sydney. Each is configured on a single row with a toggle, custom name, color picker, and session time window.

• Timezone - Sets the timezone for all session calculations. A comprehensive list of global timezones is available.

• Maximum Sessions to Display - Controls how many historical session boxes remain visible per session. Range: 1-50.
  
  
• Location of Label - Sets whether session labels appear at the top or bottom of the box.
  
  
• Show Labels / Show Border / Show Fill - Independent toggles for session label text, box borders, and background fill.
  

TRUE WEEK OPEN

• Display True Week Open - Toggles the weekly open level on or off.

• Time of Open - Sets the time on the selected day when the open price is captured, using 24-hour format.

• Extend - Controls how far forward the line extends in bars.
  
  
• Maximum - Controls how many historical week open lines are shown. Range: 1-10.

TRUE DAY OPEN

Same settings layout as True Week Open, applied to the daily open level.

This tool works on any instrument and is designed for intraday timeframes below 4 hours. It consolidates several time-based references into a single indicator, reducing the need to stack multiple overlays. The session ranges, day separators, and open levels are purely visual aids and reference points - they are best used alongside other analysis rather than as standalone trade signals.
