How to Use the Indicator
1. Adding to Your Chart:
• Search for “Box Theory LITE” in TradingView’s Indicators library (it’s free).
• Apply it to your chart.
2. Customizing Inputs:
• Visual Toggles: Enable/disable “Show Previous Day Box”, “Show Opening Range”, “Show Refined Levels”, “Show Hourly/4H Swings”, “Show EMA” (and EMA2/EMA3), “Show Bollinger Bands”, and “Show VWAP” to focus on what matters.
• Box Settings: Adjust “Box Extension (Bars)” for how far the daily box projects, and “Box Color”.
• Colors and Styles: Customize colors for OR (blue/purple by default), pivots (aqua/teal/orange), swings (white/aqua/fuchsia), EMAs (white/gray/black), BB (blue/green), and VWAP (blue). Set “Line Width” for emphasis.
• Lengths: Tune “Pivot Length” for sensitivity in refined levels, “EMA Length” (and EMA2/EMA3) for trend periods, “Bollinger Band Length/Multiplier” for volatility bands.
3. Interpreting the Chart:
• PDH/PDL: Red line for Previous Day High, green for Low—core daily structure lines extending across the chart.
• Daily Box: Yellow (transparent) box framing yesterday’s range, extended right for future price anticipation.
• Opening Range: —watch for expansions or contractions post-open.
• Refined Levels: Aqua for pivot highs, teal/orange for pivot low tops/bottoms; white for hourly swings; aqua/fuchsia for 4H swings. These provide layered S/R for confluence.
• EMAs: White/Gray/Black lines for multi-period moving averages—use crossovers or position relative to price for trend bias.
• Bollinger Bands: Blue upper/lower bands with green midline—identify squeezes (low volatility) or expansions (high volatility).
• VWAP: Blue line resetting daily—price above suggests bullish bias, below bearish.
4. Analysis Workflow:
• Daily Setup: Start with the box and PDH/PDL to frame the session. Add OR for intraday bias.
• Multi-Timeframe: Layer refined levels (pivots/swings) to spot high-probability zones where multiple lines align.
• Trend/Volatility: Use EMAs to filter direction (e.g., trade above EMA cluster for longs) and BB/VWAP for context (e.g., mean reversion at BB extremes).
• No Signals: This is purely visual—combine with your own strategy for entries/exits. Avoid over-reliance; test on historical data manually.
5. Tips and Warnings:
• Keep the chart uncluttered by toggling off unused features.
• For more advanced trading (e.g., signals, alerts, auto-presets), consider the PRO version.
